Inspired by an Autochron prototype developed in the late 1970s, this Autochron faithfully adopts the aesthetic codes of this model, which has become a cult classic among collectors. True to Nivada Grenchen's DNA, this Autochron now combines vintage charm with the reliability of an easy-to-use mecaquartz movement. With a black dial and 3 aged beige sub-dials at 6, 9, and 12 o'clock, this chronograph boasts a strong personality, far from current market trends.

The Autochron Mecaquartz case is made of 316L stainless steel with finishes alternating between polished and brushed surfaces. Its contained diameter of 38 mm, its thickness of only 10.8 mm (excluding crystal), and its lug-to-lug length of 44.3 mm provide excellent comfort on the wrist. Its double-domed sapphire crystal and screwed crown complete a construction designed for daily use.

Powered by the Seiko VK67 Mecaquartz caliber, the Nivada Grenchen Autochron combines the precision of a quartz movement with the feel of a true mechanical chronograph. The central chronograph seconds hand sweeps smoothly across the dial, while the pushers offer crisp and precise actuation. This hybrid architecture allows the Autochron Mecaquartz to benefit from approximately three years of battery life while retaining the sensations of a traditional chronograph.
